For Mom with SS

Sweet Stamps Challenge:

For Mom

Although I tend to create a lot of cards throughout the year for my mom, just because, I always enjoy creating a special Mother's Day card for her!  This year is no exception!

I had such a great time creating this card:
I just love this Floral Arrangement stamp!  It was so much fun to color!

Camping

Our first camping trip with the kids in May of 2010! I created this two page layout quickly for each of their albums!

They enjoyed camping so much!

We have since gone camping may times with them and they just LOVE being able to be outside all day long, swimming, playing different games and camp fires over and over!! :)

Have a nice day!

Whoo Hoo Wendesday with IBS

Okay, I am so excited to share that on the Inspired By Stamping blog, each of us talented designers will be sharing some awesome techniques with all of you!

Whoo Hoo Wednesday!!

Today happens to be my first tutorial I am sharing, I did this tutorial a few week's back, but Joanna liked it and thought it would be fun to share on the IBS blog as well.

I used some cheap ordinary SPONGES, to create a fun shimmery background!

I used a paint brush to add some of my shimmery paints to the sponge, you could use any kinds of paint.

As I sat and typed this up I was thinking - wonder if the sponges could be used as stamps, so I interrupted myself from my typing to try it out!  Sure enough, you could use just an ink pad if you'd like!!

Ink the sponge up the way you would like and "stamp" it on your paper:

It gives a fun texture!
I love creating my own papers, so I just love using sponges to help create them!  You could use the paper just like this if you'd like.

For the card I created for today, I wanted to add a subtle shimmer/texture to patterned paper.

After:

For the pink piece, I wanted to add a light blue shimmer to it, to tie the piece in with the other paper:

Fun how some cheap ordinay kitchen sponges can add a little fun to crafting!!

Now for my card, I am so excited to share with you:
With Mother's Day right around the corner, I wanted to take the chance to create a beautiful card with IBS stamps!!  The sentiment is from the set All Year Wishes 2 and the stamped frame on the Spellbinders die is from Fancy Labels 18! LOVE both sets!!

Stamped Frame with SS

I have a fun seed packet I created for Paper and Such today as well, check my post below!

Sweet Stamps Challenge:

Stamped Frame

Sweet Stamps has a lot of great frame stamps, you can see them all here!!

I decided to do something a little different for this challenge!

My mother-in-law's birthday was recently and she loves wine!  So I bought a yummy bottle wine for her and thought it would be fun to create a tag for it, something I have never done before.

Pretty happy with how it turned out:

I just love the Oval Lace Frame from SS!!  Would have to say it is my favorite!  It's so pretty!  I love using the parchment craft technique with it!  Makes it look so elegant!!

I used some CI Paints in burgundy, Mango, Tutu Pink and Light Purple to add shimmer to the flowers.

I just love how the Wonderful Day sentiment came out!!  I stamped the sentiment in some pigment ink and then used some Deliquesce Fine Clear Embossing Powder over the top!

Mother'sDay
or Any Special Lady That You Know

My mom loves planting flowers and tossing seeds along their hill, so I thought it would be fun to create this little package for her!
The sentiment, I think, is perfect for this little gift.  The sentiment is from the Daffodil set and the image of the poppy is from the Poppies set.

Hippo Congrats!

So I had an odd request!  A friend of my mom asked if I could create a bridal shower card for her with a hippo on it!

Not a typical image I would used on a bridal shower card, but that is what she asked for so this is what I came up with:
I didn't have any hippo stamps, but the first thing I thought of was my Create a Critter cart!

I think it turned out pretty cute!  The bride to be has collected hippos since she was like 2!  So that is why they wanted a hippo card for her!

She loved it!  and that is all that mattered!!

Have a nice day!

Special Thanks

I have a fun card today using some My Thoughts Exactly stamps!
I created a fun card for one of my best friends!  We met up the other day for dinner and I wanted to give her a card.
For this card I used one of my favorite sets of stamps from My Thoughts Exactly called "Many Thanks"! I used two of the "thank you" stamps to create the piece of paper with black ink, but inked one in a bright pink to make it stand out differently.

Close-up:

Inside:
For the inside I used the "for being my friend" and the heart from the Many Thanks set as well.

I just love the My Thoughts Exactly line of stamps!!  The little sentiments are so fun to use to create exactly what you want to say! :)

I used some Creative Inspirations Paint in Sunshine to add shimmer to these cute little flowers I created using one of my punches! These paints are truly amazing!

Have a great day!

Double Dutch Fold with SS

Ready for another fun Sweet Stamps Challenge?!

Make sure to join us on the Sweet Stamps blog, we'd love to see what you create. You have a chance at winning $20 to purchase some "sweet" things of your own!! There's plenty of "sweet" things to choose from!

Double Dutch Fold

Last fall, I was introduced to this fold and really enjoyed making my card.  So I was very excited to see SS was having a challenge using this fold as I knew it would be fun to use SS stamps for this type of card!

Here's the card I created:
I used the new "Dahlia" stamp release this month!!
I just love the new "From the Garden" set of stamps!!

Here's a peek as you begin to open the card, sorry I didn't completely finish the entire card.  I plan to use the card for my Aunt's Birthday that is coming up in a few weeks.

This is such a fun fold!!  Here's a link to a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.  I've actually played around with it and got it to be one whole card rather then having to add the small piece behind it to warp around to create the two flaps.

Featured Artist

Joanna, owner of Inspired By Stamping, is featuring each of the lovely team members!

Today happens to be my day in which she is featuring me on her blog!

I have been so fortunate to be designing for her, I love her stamps!  The sentiments are such beautiful fonts!  And I just love the stamps that go along with the spellbinders dies!

Anyway, here is the card I created for today:
I was inspired to create a baby card!  I have a girlfriend who is having a baby girl later this month!

I just LOVE how it turned out!  I used the recently release Little Phrases  for the sentiment.  My little girl was helping me make this card and she liked the "sweet baby" sentiment.  My other choice would have been the "New Baby" sentiment from the All Year Wishes 2.

Have a beautiful day!

IBS DT Favorites

Good morning stampers!!

This is the final day of showing off some of Inspired By Stamping's amazing stamps!   It's been so much fun sharing my favorite IBS stamps; Joanna is so talented and fun to design for!

---------------------------

These two cards actually are published in Paper Creations Summer 2012!!  Yay!
I just got my issue yesterday!!
I created this fun non-traditional Christmas card using the Winter Wonderland set!  I just love this set!  It actually was my first set form IBS! I just LOVE all the snowflakes and sentiments in this set!

I created this card for Paper Creations and they then asked me to create a fall and summer card to go a long with it.

So I used the Butterfly Wings set, another amazing set, to create this card to go with the above card:
I love the colors I used for this card!

The Butterfly Wings set has a great variety of butterflies and sentiments!

Here's a look at the magazine article:
