D2BA and CCB Product Match-Up

Hello Stamping Friends!!

Dare 2B Artzy Blog and Canvas Corp Brands has teamed up this week to showcase the twp companies products together!!  Today is my day to showcase my projects!

I had so much fun with the two companies products together!!

-------------------------------

I started off by creating this beautiful canvas:

I started by using a Stretched Natural Canvas - 6x6!!
I layed a 6x6 stencil on the top and masked the top and bottom portions with painter's tape, as you can see below:
I used some metallic texture paste and palette  knife to trsfer the fun design to the canvas!

Lifting the stencil off....so exciting!!
It turned out perfect, in my opinion!!  One of those happy dance moments!!

I added a Burlap Flower - Hot Pink!
I also added a tag, with the "Life is Beautiful" sentiment stamped from the Big Bloom stamp set, as well as some fun flowers stamped in Paradise ink, from the Big Bloom stamp set as well!

As I was working with the flower for the canvas, I thought how cool the flower would be for a hair clip for my daughter's hair as she absolutely loves putting flowers in her hair!

So I did just that and created a pretty card to go with them!

Here is my finished flowers and card:

I started by creating the hair pieces:
 I grabbed a few supplies!

I first started with the Burlap Flower - Purple!
I sprayed it first with some pretty Glimmer Mist!  Then sprayed it with some MOD Podge, which helps stiffen it up a little bit!  Helps also to stop the flower from fraying too much more!

I then used my glue gun to add the hair clip and bling!!

My finished flower:
So pretty!!!

I did the same steps with a Burlap Flower - Teal as well!!

I ended up deciding to use the Teal flower to add to my card and just giving the purple flower on the side.  I thought it would be super fun to adhere the flower to my card!  To make a beautiful statment to the card, but then be able to remove it to use as a hair piece!!
I just LOVE this idea!

Going back a few steps, before I added the flower, I first started working on my card design.  Which I decided to use a piece of fun Black & White Chevron paper as my main layer.  As I was looking at by stamps from D2BA I thought it would be fun to use the polka dot accent from the Bright Birthday stamp set to create the polka dots on the white chevron sections!! It's so fun to alter pattern paper with stamps! I used the Paradise and Wild Orchid inks from D2BA!
I then used some Glimmer Mist to add the splatter to the paper!!

I also ended up using a piece of Wild Orchid paper from D2BA behind the flower!!
I stamped the smile sentiment from the Butterfly Tangle stamp set on a Tag and added it behind the flower!

How fun!!!
My daughter absolutely loved the flowers for her hair!

  1. Such a cute idea. I would do this for my daughters but I don't think my 21 and 22 year olds would wear the bow. Love the added polka dots to the card. I really like how you masked off the one section of the stencil and and the paste technique turned out beautiful.

  2. Love your creations and how you made your burlap flowers that is such a great idea to have the flower come off the card as a hair piece thanks for sharing both of these hugs Nikki
