Sweet Little Boy

Today I have a sweet layout I created for my little guy's album!  I can't believe he will be 4 years old in two weeks!

Time sure flies by!
I can still remember very clearly the first week of having him home, we were in such amazement by his every move!

I used some of my amazing Inspired By Stamping stamp sets to create this fun layout!!

The "sweet little Boy" title was created using the new Oh, Baby! set along with the Little Phrases set from Inspired By Stamping!

The "bundle of joy" sentiment is also from the Oh, Baby set.

In this new set there is also a line of three stars which are fun to use to add some star elements to your projects.  I decided to put a set above and below my write up.

I also used a single star to add in each scallop of my border!

Have a wonderful day!

Daddy Layout

A friend of mine asked me to create a layout for her to give her husband for Father's Day.  I was so honored she asked me!

She gave me a poem she wanted me to include on the layout, but the rest was up to me!
I really like how it turned out!

She was so happy with it!  She was going to add a picture of their little guy and daddy walking hand in hand.  How sweet!

Have a nice day!

Microbeads with SS

This week's Sweet Stamps Challenge is a:

Microbeads

Another first for me this week!  I've never used these tiny little microbeads before!!

Wasn't sure how I wanted to used them.  Wanted to make a shaker card, but then after buying some Scor Tape and seen on the packaging that it was good for using with microbeads, I thought it would be fun to try!!
I used the Super Sticky Tape to add three stripes of adhesive to the right side and then added the microbeads one color at a time.

I used two shades of blue and clear micro beads!
(Yes, I had a mess in my room after using them!!)
I used one of the new Authentique paper pads called Loyal.  I love it!  Pretty sad I think I need to buy a new one already, as I've used it so much!

Look at the shimmer in the sun!!  LOVE!!
I also used Jeweled Inspirations in Clear in size SS30.

Best Dad Ever

I'm so excited to share this card with you today!!

I made a fun Father's Day card using some My Thoughts Exactly stamps!  Plus one of the DT Members, Lenae (SugarGem), is so very talented and created some fun Zipper.svg that she shared with me that I was inspired to use on this card!!  LOVE them!!

The "Best dad ever" sentiment is from the Big Thoughts set!

Hidden behind the "zipper" is the i love you from the Lovey Puns Animal set!  How cool is that!!

I just love the design of this card!!
Have a great day!

Father's Day

On the Paper and Such blog, today is my day to post!

With Father's Day this weekend, I thought it would be very fitting to create a Father's Day card!

I just love the Deer Dad set that was re-released last month!  My husband is a hunter so I know he will love this card from the kids and I!
Notice the single button and 3 pearls?!...It's a pull tab with a hidden sentiment underneath!  I got this awesome "zipper file" from Lenae from Sugar Gem Crafts! I just love it!

Here's a look at what it says when you pull the tab:

To A Special DAD

With Father's Day this weekend, I decided to create another Father's Day card for my post at My Thoughts Exactly today!

I used the new Father's Day Subway Art set!!  These new subway art sets are so much fun!  They can be used in so many different ways!  Can you tell I'm a little excited!?! ;)  I just love these sets!

Here's the card I created:
I used the Dad, Daddy, Father and Pop stamps to create the background in different shades of blue.  I just love creating my own backgrounds!!

I added "to a very special" on the left side and then in the circle opening I used the "Happy Father's Day" stamp, both from the set as well!

A look at the entire set:
fathers-day-subway-art
What a great set!

This set is not only for Father's Day, you could use it all year round....as it would be easy to simply switch the Happy Father's Day to a Happy Birthday stamp instead!

Have a wonderful day!!

Whoo Hoo Wed. with IBS

Whoo Hoo!!

It's time for another Whoo Hoo Wednesday tutorial with Inspired By Stamping's wonderful stamps!!

Have you seen the beautiful new background sets released this month?!?!

Here's a look at the two sets:

Vintage Background

Background Basics I

I love both of them, especially since I enjoy creating my own backgrounds!

Although I find that sometimes it can be a little frustrating trying to line them up and get them to be perfect.

So I thought I would share a little friendly tip to help you out.
I take the background stamp I would like to work with, in this case, one from the Vintage Background set and line the bottom of it on one of the lines on my acrylic block.

The block I used is made by Fiskars, it came in a set of five different sized blocks.  I didn't realize all blocks don't have the lines on them.  I also own a block that I bought from Hobby Lobby that is made by the Paper Studio.

To me this helps as you can easily just line that line with the bottom of your sheet of paper, that way you only will need to eye up the left side, rather then trying to line up the left side and bottom.

Just about perfect:

For my card I created I only needed to create one row, but if I were to create a bigger piece of paper, then I would have to eye it up a little more as I would get to the second row.  Best advice is just take your time.

I also thought it would be fun to quickly show you a fun and quick way to alter chipboard.
First, I used some glue to coat the heart.

Then placed it on the paper I wanted to cover it with.

Then I cut around it and lastly sanded around the edges to clean it up.
I also had an ink that matched the paper so I inked the edges and side.  I also add some of my shimmer paint to the heart to make it shimmer!!

And finally.....my card!
The "LOVE" is from the new Vintage Sayings set!

I also used an amazing flower from the IBS store!

I also really love these backgrounds as there is so many great and fun opportunities for you to add bling to the patterns!!

Make sure to check out the IBS Blog for some amazing inspiration and more great tutorials!!

Have a wonderful day!

Bleached with SS

This week's Sweet Stamps Challenge is a:

Bleached

This was a new technique for me to try out!  I have never used bleach to create a card before.

It was pretty fun!  I enjoyed experimenting with this technique!

This is what I came up with:
I used bleach to stamp both the Dahlia and Lace Border!  Two great stamps from Sweet Stamps!!
I love the turn out!

Another view:

I had to add some shimmer to the flower! :)  I used Green Olive and Tutu Pink Creative Inspirations!!

Here's the same image stamped with bleach on purple paper!  As I mentioned I had fun experimenting!!
