Sweet Stamps: Easter

Sweet Stamps Challenge #8:

Easter

Here's my creation:
I used "Tulip bunny" for this card, an adorable stamp from Sweet Stamps!  I also used the stamp "Happy Easter" for this card.

Other Sweet Stamp Products Used:
Shades Dye Ink "Pansy Purple"
Soft Pink Rhinestones
Nellie's Flower Multi Frame Die
Daisy & Swirl Embossing Folder
Creative Inspirations Paint: Light Purple and Sage

-------------------------------------
I also have a fun little tutorial for you, something else I like to do with the Creative Inspirations Paint:

1. I first used the "Daisy & Swirl" Embossing Folder to embossing my paper.

2. I then like to use a little paint brush to add the CI Paint to the embossed parts - I used "Light Purple" (A toothpick works great for tiny parts)

A great way to add some shimmer to your projects and to make your own paper!!

-------------------------------------

I also like to use cotton balls to add shimmer to elements.

1. Get an element you would like to use, in this case I cut a swirl from my Cricut.

2. Lightly dip the cotton ball in the cover and as you can see in my photo, I first dab the cotton ball on my scrap paper so that the paint doesn't go on my element as a big glob, rather just a light texture..

Finished element - I used "Sage"

I also used "Light Purple" to add some shimmer to the bunnies bow!

-------------------------------------

The things you can do with these paints is endless!  They're  alot of fun to play with!

Make sure to join us on the Sweet Stamps blog, we'd love to see what you create.  You have a chance at winning $20 to purchase some "sweet" things of your own!!  Also make sure to check out all the other lovely creations from the other DT members!!

Have a great day!

Core'dinations is currently having a DT call.  That's pretty exciting!  Who doesn't love paper?!?!  I know I'm addicted to it!  So I thought I would give it a try. Who knows unless you try!

A card using a piece of green from the Core'dinations "Flower Power" Vintage Collection.  I embossed the strip with Cuttlebug folder "Tiny Mosic Texture" and then sanded a few of the edges.

A card using a piece of pink from the Core'dinations "Flower Power" Vintage Collection. I embossed using Cuttlebug folder "Divine Swirl" and then sanded it.

A layout using a piece of purple from the Core'dinations "Classic Sunshine" Vintage Collection.

As a part of trying out I need to share some creations with you.  The two cards are new and the layout is a previous creation.

Good lucky to anyone that applies!!

Hope you've enjoyed! Have a wonderful day!

Prairie Fairy Challenge #49

Over on the Prairie Fairy Fun Fridays Blog our challenge for the next two weeks is:

Oh So Spring

This gave me a chance to start working on some of my spring layouts for the kids.

I created a Easter layout for my little girl's album.  I used the new adorable "Easter Egg Gilly"!  She is so darn cute!
I added some easter eggs for her to sit on, which I thought was a cute idea!

This image is available at Prairie Fairy Designs and comes in uncolored and colored PNG as well as uncolored and colored JPG formats!!  So it makes it perfect for digital scrapbookers!! (I used the colored PNG version)

Have a nice day!!

Are you sure it's March 23rd?

I'm starting to think it's NEVER going to be spring!

Just yesterday morning I was walking outside getting excited to see my tulips and daffodils are starting to come up!! Let alone all the snow was melted!

And now this is the scene outside now....
Seriously?!?!

I don't remember the last time we had snow this late in the season!!

I guess the good part is, I'm stuck inside crafting!! :)

Hope you are having a nice day!

Sweet Stamps Center Step Card

Sweet Stamps Challenge #7:

Center Step Card
I've never made a center step card before, so this was a fun challenge to do!!

Our team lead Sandy, created this template:

Here's my creation:
The stamps I used for this card include "Butterfly Bookmark" for the two end panels and "It's Your Special Day".  For the main butterfly I used the "Intricate Butterfly Die" by Marianne Designs! Other products used from Sweet Stamps include: "Lavender" Shades Dye Ink and Soft Pink Rhinestones.

Side view:
I just love how this card turned out!

A close-up of the butterfly:
I used Creative Inspiration Paints "Tutu Pink" to cover the entire butterfly.

A close-up of one of the side panels, in which I used "Butterfly Bookmark".  It's a new stamp that was just released last month, one of my favorites from Sweet Stamps!
I added some Creative Inspiration Paints to the Butterflies, but it is kind of hard to tell from this picture, sorry.

My mom needed a quick get well card, so I made this card for her quickly.  A friend of her's granddaughter is really sick so she wanted a card to cheer gradma and the littler girl up.

I used an adorable Meljen digital image.  This lion is so cute!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Caught a Bug from D2D

This week's freebie at Designed 2 Delight is "Caught a Bug", if you missed getting this digi set free, you can grab it in the D2D shop.  By playing along you'll get next week's image free!

I decided to just use the ladybugs from this set to create a layout for my little girl's album.  The title "Pretty Little Lady" came to mind right away.
After finishing it up I thought it would be fun to use some of her pictures in her summer dresses from this coming summer.

Have a great day!

Think Spring with Sweet Stamps

Sweet Stamps Challenge #6:

Think Spring

When I think of spring, I think of flowers and butterflies!!  Something I have been dreaming of a lot lately!!

Here's my creation:

A close-up:
These stamps are perfect to do a little paper piecing with as well!!  I used some of my pastels to add a little more color to the paper.

I used "Double Iris" (#7040H), a butterfly from "Butterfly Bookmark" (#3008g) and "Birthday Script" (915D) for this card.

I used Shades Dye Ink "Pansy Purple" to stamp with the "Birthday Script". After stamping I used Creative Inspiration Paint "Light Purple" to add some shimmer to the sentiment.

I really like using the CI Paints to alter white ribbon to match my card. I had some white lace type ribbon that I wanted to make match my card better, so I used "Burgundy" to alter the ribbon.

Before:

In the process:
(Note: I used "Light Purple" on this sample)

Finished sample using "Burgundy" along with the original white:

Lastly, here is the cute little butterfly I added.  I made it complete by adding some CI Paint "Fairy Dust" to give it some shimmer. Fairy Dust is my favorite paint to use!

Well I hope you enjoyed my creation today and were inspired!

I used the cake from the set "Birhtday Party" which also includes presents and a sentiment.

Sweet Stamps Challenge #5

Sweet Stamps Challenge #5:

Parchament/Vellum Challenge

We were asked to use parchament/vellum for for this challenge.  We were taught a fun technique to do called "Parchament Craft".  We were sent some supplies in our package to create a project with this technique.

Here is a you tube tutorial from the owner Stacey.
Here's my creation:
I used the "Cutwork Daffodil" from Sweet Stamps for this card. I also used "Spots" embossing folder, "Dark Purple Rhinestones", "White" Dye Ink, and "Vellum" that can also be purchased from Sweet Stamps.

I didn't do any dry embossing on mine as I used embossing powder instead, as by using embossing powder to give the little raised effect it helps when painting in the image with the paints. (if you get any paints on the embossed areas it easily wipes off)

1st: I stamped the image with the white dye ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder

2nd: I began coloring the image in with the CI Paints to give the image some yummy shimmer!!
These paints dry pretty quickly so I tried to work fast so that I could shade with them.  I wanted to some what mix the colors while they were still wet, rather then just laying the colors on top of each other.

* Note you want to use a small amount of the paints, otherwise if you use to much the vellum does shrivel a little.

Look at this shimmer:
I used CI Paints Sage, Evergreen, Green Olive, Citrus, Buttercup and Canary to color in the "Cutwork Daffodil" image.  The entire time I was painting the image I kept thinking how it was turning out like faux stained glass.

Make sure to join us on the Sweet Stamps blog, we'd love to see what you create.  You have a chance at winning $20 to purchase some "sweet" things of your own!!  Also make sure to check out all the other lovely creations from the other DT members!! We love comments!

Gone Green

Creative Inspiration Paints challenge this week is:
Gone Green

This challenge can be taken in many different ways....
Using the color GREEN, recycling, reusing something, use what you got!!

I shared this card with you earlier in the week, with this challenge in mind and wanted to now explain what I did:
For this card everything I used was from my stash!  My goal this year has been to use what I got!

For the swirl on this card, I recycled a cereal box!!
(My kids love the Tucan!)

I cut the swirl from Cricut cart "Home Decor.
I did have to use a scissors to cut a few spots, but it worked great!  This is a great way to make your own embellishments. Kind of like chipboard.

Finished:

So save those cereal boxes to create your own embellishments
Plus CI Paints add some great shimmer to them! :)

Have a great week!!
