YNS April Preview Day

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's that time of the month at Your Next Stamp!!

It's Preview Day today!
Tomorrow is Release Day!!!!

I honestly have NO clue where to begin this month!  So many of the sets being leased this month....I AM IN LOVE WITH!!

---------------------

Since spring is almost here and I can not wait to see my daffodils and tulips blooming, as well as all my other flowers, I decided to showcase the Bunches of Happiness stamp set!!
There are 4 gorgeous flower bouquets in this set, a vase, a bow and 3 sentiments!!

As you can tell by my card, I used the tulip bouquet!  I absolutely love tulips!!  Just wish they would bloom longer!!

With Mother's day coming in May, I thought it would be very fitting to use this sentiment from the set, in which I stamped with Black Olive Ink on the die cut banner from the Cool Tag Two Patterns Die Set!! (I LOVE this banner, it is used a lot by me!!)

I also used the Stitched Ovals Die Set for my card!

Thanks so much with IBS

Hello Stamping Friends!

Today I am on the Inspired By Stamping Blog!!

Spring is right around the corner!!  Which means....FLOWERS!  I absolutely love flowers!  They are my other addiction!

So with flowers on my mind, I decided to grab a few IBS stamp sets and create a pretty card!!

I started my cutting my main card layer at 3 3/4" x 5", I then measured down from the top of the piece of paper at 1 3/4" and made a little pencil mark on each side.  I then ran a piece of washi tape past each pencil mark to help hold the paper to my scrap piece of paper!

I then began having some fun stamping some foliage from the Big Thanks and Words ofInspiration II stamp sets using two different colors of green ink!
Once I was pleased with how it looked, I started to stamp some of the cute tiny flowers from them sets as well!

Thinking about fields of flowers, I decided to added two little butterflies from the Butterflies stamp set as well!  I just love walks on our land through an area where I planted a bunch of wildflowers and seeing the butterflies! (This card is really making me wish for summer!!)
I love this cute little scene I've created with these tiny stamps!  I originally was going to use one of IBS's gorgeous floral stamps for my card today, but thought it would be fun to focus on the smaller images, as I tend to forget about them once in awhile!  So I thought it would be fun to share how fun they are to use!

My finished card:
I just love how it turned out!

I ended up using the Big Thanks stamp set to add the "thanks", which I stamped just a little into my field of flowers!  And then stamped the tiny "so much" just below it!
Such an elegant thank you card!

YNS Challenge #61

Hello Stamping Friends!

Time for a new challenge at Your Next Stamp!!
Click here to find the current challenge!

I always really enjoy these challenges!!

There is always a fun card sketch to find inspiration from, which I usually always do!!  There is also a fun photo/colors to find inspiration from as well!!

-----------------

This challenge, I found inspiration from the card sketch and used a few of the colors!!

I used the fun Cute Gnomies stamp set to stamp the gnome with the wheelbarrow with Black Olive Ink!  I used my Copics to color it in!  I then used the coordinating Cute Gnomies Dies to cut it out!  I just love that almost all of YNS's stamps have coordinating dies!  As I am getting older my eyes aren't what they use to be!! LOL!!  Fussy cutting sure isn't as easy as it use to be!!
I also used the "You're awesome and you 'gnome' it" sentiment!" from the Cute Gnomies stamp set, in which I inked up with the Mocha Ink!

You Warm My Heart

Hello Stamping Friends!!

Dare 2B Artzy is a Super Sponsor for the Coffee Lover's Spring Blog Hop!
I've never joined in this hop before, but thought I finally would!!

I decided to feature the Perfect Blend stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy!!

I really like the mug stamp in the set and when I seen it, I thought it would be fun to "spice" it up a little, by adding some flowers!!  As most of my cappuccino/cocoa mugs have flowers on them!!

So I stamped the mug on a piece of white cardstock and used some post-it notes to mask up around the mug where I didn't want the flowers to stamp!  I used the Happiness Blooms stamp set for the cute cluster of flowers!
Now don't get me wrong this mug is awesome just the way it is!
But just think all the endless possibilities there are in customizing this mug!!  So fun!!

I did the same for the top part of the mug as well!!

I then used the coordinating Mug Die to die cut it out so I could use pop-dots to adhere it to my card base!
I stamped the mug on a piece of kraft cardstock as well and fussy cut the middle part, so I could then run it through my die cutting machine with a striped embossing folder!  Makes it look just like those coffee wraps!!

I really like how the mug turned out!!
I stamped the steam above the mug and added two enamel hearts!  I also added the 'You warm my heart' sentiment, which are both from the Perfect Blend stamp set as well!

I just love those pretty hearts on the mug!!

Check out all D2BA's products here!  And join in the hop!!  There are a lot of fabulous prizes being given away!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have an ARTZY day!

Butterfly Box

Hello Stamping Friends!

I am on the Your Next Stamp Blog today sharing a tutorial using the awesome Butterfly Gift Box Die!!

I absolutely LOVE creating 3D projects, they make such special gifts!  And are so fun to fill with special little treasures!!

I am going to share with you today, how to create these cute little boxes!

Grab a few supplies:
Die Cutting Machine
Stamps (Garden Phoebe for sentiment)

I decided to use a piece of pattern paper to create my box, which is from the Hugs and Kisses paper pad.  Grab two pieces of paper and ran them each through a die cut machine using the box die.
Fold on appropriate scored lines!

It should look something like this:
Now begin assembling the box!  But before I started, I decided to ink the edges with Cherry Blossom ink first!

Attach the two die-cut box pieces together, by adding adhesive to the pattern side of the end tabs.
I circled the flap in the photo above to show where the tape goes, as it may be hard to tell in the photo.  Each end tab needs adhesive added to it to put the box together.

Then connect one adhesive tab to the other die cut piece, to look like this...

Then fold around the box and add the other flap to the inside, to complete the box...

Now to enclose the bottom!!

For the bottom, add adhesive to the pattern side of two of the flaps across from each other and then to the non-pattern side of the opposite two!

As the photo shows, the adhesive pattern side is down already and the box is in a square shape.  Adhere them  to each other where they overlap and then fold the other two down.
Set the box on your table and reach inside to push the flaps together more, if you like.

Oh so fun!!

Now to die cut the butterfly!!!  Like the other box I created previously, I decided to grab some glittery paper!!  As I love glitter!!

Die cut each butterfly piece once!
Use your scissors to slightly cut the slit open on each butterfly.

Add glue to the glittery side (the pretty side) of the rounded part of the die-cut butterfly. Adhere it to the inside of the box flap, lining it up so the slit is just above the top of the flap.
Do the same to the second wing, attaching it to the flap across from the flap the first butterfly is adhered to.

Hold the box so the front is facing you.   Then carefully run the back and front flaps (the ones without butterflies) in your fingers to give them a slight rounded bend, being careful not to crease the paper.
Then fold in the rounded back flap first, then the front.

Piece together the butterfly flaps, by bringing the left wing/flap above the right wing/flap and sliding the two slits into each other.

The finished top:
So fun!  So glittery!!  I love it!!

The box is perfect just the way it is, but if you'd like, you can add embellishments, images and/or sentiments to it!

Which is what I did!  I ended up die-cutting the banner from the Cool Tag Two Patterns Die Set!  I then stamped the 'you make me smile' sentiment from the Garden Phoebe stamp set in the center!
I added a Gumdrop on each side of the sentiment!!

A cute package, sure to put a smile on someone's face!
I hope I have inspired you to create some of your own Butterfly Boxes!!  They are so easy to create with this die!!!

Have a lovely day!

I ended up following the sketch and grabbing a few of the colors to work with to create this cute card:

Barn Shaped Card

Hello Stamping Friends!

I decided to revisit the Barnyard Fun Release from Frantic Stamper to share how fun it is to create a barn shaped card with the awesome Barn Card Maker die set!!

I grabbed a few supplies to start with:
Barn Card Die (FRA-DIE-09972)
Hey Y'All (FRA-DIE-09987)
Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers (FRA-DIE-09986)
Party Animals Stamp Set
Die Cutting Machine
Adhesive
Glue
Cardstock (White, Red, Green, 2 Shades of Gray, Golden Yellow, Black)
Scissors

Let's have some fun!!

I started by creating my card base (A2) from a piece of white cardstock, like I would normally. (I like to use a nice sturdy piece as my base, usually 110lb cardstock weight)

I set it aside for a moment to then die-cut the first layer of my barn from my darkest piece of gray!

Here is a picture of it once die-cut:

I'm not going to do any trimming to this piece as it is going to be my main layer for the barn.  (So I did once again use a little heavier piece of cardstock)

I then grabbed my original white cardbase layer and added adhesive to the entire front.  I then added my die-cut barn so that the top of it slightly goes over my fold.

A view from the backside:

I now need to do a little trimming.

I cut the white strip that is extra along the bottom first:

I then cut the two slices of cardbase to the top right of the barn:

So my card now looks like this:

The piece of white cardbase between the silo and barn needs to be fussy cut!  So I did just that before moving on!

Now it's time to have some fun and begin assembling the barn!!

I started by die-cutting the barn from a piece of red cardstock:
I marked two arrows in the photo above with a sharpie to show where I trimmed the barn.

I then added adhesive to the area where the piece was going:

I then added the die-cut to my cardstock base!
So exciting!!

I then die-cut the barn from a piece of white cardstock and once again marked some arrows to show where I trimmed with a scissors.
I only needed the really thin piece of edging for the barn details!

I added a small amount of glue where the piece was going to go and adhered it to the base!

I then added some adhesive tape to a piece of white cardstock and ran the door dies (small and large) through twice to get two of each size as well as the trim board once.  These pieces are now stickers!!  Which make adding them to the barn easy!!

I then die-cut the top part of the silo with my lighter gray cardstock!
Trimmed it up and added it to my base!

How cool is that?!
Such a fun card it makes!!

Now it is ready to be personalized any way you'd like!!

Here is my finished card:
I ended up adding hay, which is a part of the  Barn Card Die, as well as a strip of grass, which I created using the Stitched Grassy Hill Edgers!!

Added some black pearls to the doors to act as handles!  And added a few gray pearls to my silo!  They add such a nice touch!

I added the "Hey" portion of the Hey Y'All die set just above the doors, for my main sentiment, to lead into the inside sentiment!

In which I stamped the "herd it's your birthday" and cow from the Party Animals stamp set!!
What a super fun card to make!!
