"Scaredy Cat" from Designed 2 Delight

As always, Faith has done it again at Designed 2 Delight!  I just love this new Halloween image "SCAREDY CAT", this past week's freebie.  If you missed out getting it, you can buy it in her shop.

I have to admit, I never really was big into making Halloween cards, but with such a cute image, I can't help but use it!

I am so excited to annouce that Faith recently had a design team call and I thought I would give it a shot.  I just LOVE her images!  I've been chosen to be on her design team along with many other talented ladies!

I added CI Paint "Mellow Yellow" to the pumpkins face as if it were lit up!

Have a wonderful evening!

Movie Night with CI Paints

Our second term of the CI Paints Design Team is coming to an end, it just seems like yesterday we were beginning. The third term is beginning Oct. 4th! This next round we’re doing things a little different….you’ll have to check the blog out then to see the changes! We also are beginning to have challenges!! It’s so exciting!!

We also have a few new faces we are adding to our design team! And a few people have stepped down, which we will miss, but wish them a lot of luck in the future with their creativeness!

Anyway this finale week’s challenge is “MOVIE NIGHT”, something we do here often! Thinking it over I decided to go with the movie “CARS”! My little guy loves Lightening McQueen!

Granted my husband and I have both raced for many years, so it’s bond to run in his blood a little bit! He just loves going to the race track! This summer we went to Norway, MI to watch “daddy” race a Mid-American Stock Car Series race!

There was a car painted just like Lightening McQueen and he found that one in no time!

I’ve decided to scrap the pictures from the race for this week’s challenge:

I used CI Paint "Garnet" to add some shimmer to McQueen's paint job! :) A racecar needs a little shimmer in it's paint, don't ya think? Well the CI Paints do a wonderful job, I think!
McQueen's car just shines!

I used the cuttlebug folder tiny mosaic texture the wrong way...
then filled in a few of the squares with "Garnet" to add a little something to the #1!

I couldn't get the greastest picture of a close-up of the checkered flags, but I covered the white cardstock with "Winter Frost" so that there was also some shimmer in the flag!

I used the Disney Cars, Mickey Font and Lyrical Letters for the cuts on this layout.

There's so much a person can do with these paints! I just love them!

Have a wonderful day! Make sure to take a look at the blog to see the other movie inspired projects!

Tuesday Color Spolight: Sage

Once again it's Tuesday, so that means another featured color on the CI Blog. This week I've chosen SAGE! Such a pretty green color!

Color in the cover:

This past weekend I was at the Mall of America for Scrapfest, what fun!! Anyway I had taken a class by Prima Marketing - I just love flowers!! Anyway the leaves below were cut out of some of the packaging from the flowers we used to make the LO below. How cool is that? I have never really looked at the packaging from products before, but they encouraged us to start taking a closer look at the packaging and try re-using it for projects. So we cut these leaves out - and obviously as I was in the class I kept thinking - "I can't wait to get to my CI Paints to add some shimmer to this project!!" :) So when I got home I added SAGE to the leaves to give them some shimmer!

Here's the layout:

Two close-ups of the bottom right flowers and leaves with CI Paint SAGE!

I also used SAGE to alter my paper. The top half has some circles that I thought it would be fun to add some shimmer to.
I also used the remaining paper I had from the layout to make this card:
A very simple, yet elegant card!

A close-up of the flower cluster. Again I used CI Paint SAGE to add shimmer to the leaves!
Using the paints just adds such a beautiful end touch to all projects! I just love these paints!

Check out SAGE along with all the other great colors you can choose from when ordering! SAGE would be great for those Christmas tree's on the holiday cards that we'll will have to be starting soon!

Have a great day!

Time for a little Halloween!

It's time to start thinking about those Halloween cards! I got these amazing Great Impression Stamps, which are currently in the Stamp of the Month program! They are just WAY too cute!

I firstly found a sketch to go with:

Then made this card:
I have to say these are the most layers I have ever put on a card! I just loved the "Hehehe" witch stamp! I also found these awesome papers on my last trip to JoAnn's from K & Company! All the papers in the stack are really neat!

Here's a close up of the card: The "Spider Web" is this month's stamp of the month at GI Stamps. I used VersaMark the covered it with clear embossing powder. I then heated it...and got this cool background! I also thought the "Drippy Goo" Punch was very fitting!

And lastly is a picture of the inside of the card:The little spider is so cute!

Have a wonderful day!

"Sew Kind"

Another great freebie from Faith at Designed 2 Delight!

I used Adobe Photoshop to color in the image. I printed it twice and cut out the little flowers and then used pop-dots to give them some dimension on my card!

I hope that it is okay that I just uploaded the image for now, as I can not find my camera anywhere to take a picture. I currently am packing to leave for vacation tomorrow and must have put it in one of my bags already.

Have a great weekend! Myself along with two of my friends are heading to the Mall of America for Scrapfest!!! I can't wait!

Crazy for Animals

We visited the DeYoung Family Zoo last month, it was amazing! It's located in Upper Michigan (Wallace). If anyone lives around here, I strongly suggest going. It was so neat! We're going to make it a yearly trip for now on! I just love how hands on they are.

I was so excited to be able to hold "Louie" the baby chimp! It'll be neat watching him grow!

This is a digital LO I created for both Sawyer and Ava's album.

Have a great Sunday!

Beautiful LO

So as I mentioned the other day, I have been tossing around with idea of doing so digital LO's. I love working on my computer creating this, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Here's my first LO:

I still really enjoy actually playing with the paper and other materials, but thought it would be fun to do this as well. So I can maybe get caught up a little faster and hopefully stay on top of creating their books. I also I am thinking this will help at not making the books as thick.

So now hopefully tonight I will get the LO printed and officially see if I like the results!

Have a nice day! Kind of a icky day here, been raining all morning! So what better to do then SCRAP!! :)

CI Paints Challenge: Monochrome

This week’s CI Paints challenge is “Monochrome w/3D embellishments”.

I have a good friend getting married in a few weeks, so I thought it would be a great idea to make her wedding card.

With inspiration from their wedding invite:

I came up with this:

I think it turned out perfect! Simple, yet elegant!

I used both Beige and Ivory which are currently CI Paints Limited Edition colors which are being offered until the end of December! Get yours before they’re gone! I love both of them! Burgundy and Denium are the other two limited edition colors!

To make the background I used a cotton ball dabbed in the paint color of choice: Then just dabbed the sheet of paper until I liked how it looked. I really like this look.

Here are some close-up pics:Isn't the shimmer BEAUTIFUL?!?!

I used Chocolate and Caramel to cover the white Hero Arts flowers. I dipped my yellow brads in the cover of the Ivory paint to change them not only to match my prject, but to make them more fun by adding some shimmer!!I hope you have enjoyed my project, let me know what you think.

Check out the CI Paints Blog for some other great ideas!! Have a wonderful day!

Tuesday Color Spotlight: Tutu Pink

It’s Tuesday, so that means at the CI Paints blog it's another color spotlight! This week’s color I’ve chosen is one of my favorites…..Tutu Pink! It’s such a pretty pink!

I love how these cards turn out, they're pretty simple, yet I think very pretty. With summer coming to an end, I thought I'd make one last summery card!

I first stamped the butterfly stamp (SU Stamp Set "Priceless") in the ink color of choice then I lightly dipped my paint brush in the cover of the Tutu Pink paint and then lightly brushed it on the stamp.
Look at the beautiful shimmer in the burrtfly:
I just LOVE it!

I then used a toothpick dipped in the cover of the paint to add shimmer to the dots in the swirls.
Here is "Tutu Pink" on plain white cardstock!

Tutu Pink is a color in my opinion that you just HAVE to have! You can order your paints here.

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!

Happy Labor Day Everyone

Sorry for my lack of posting the past week, I needed to take some time away from everything for awhile and just sit back. I have been so busy with work, things around the house and the kids that it just caught up to me. I spent a lot of time this past week taking the kids places and being lazy playing with them.

Anywa I never really cared for the idea of digital scrapbooking, as I have always enjoyed making them by hand. But as I have two little ones and take way too many pictures, I am getting further and further behind! So I thought about doing a little of both. Scrapping some and digi others...So I've been playing around for a few hours today. I think it could work! Although, being I have a graphic design degree....I can be pretty picky, so I think digi scrapping will take me just as long!

Here's a quick LO I'm working on, testing if I'm going to like doing digi LO's. I figure this would also save a little on how thick the albums are going to be!

Have a great day!
