Color Spotlight: Winter Frost

Another great color spotlight this week, sorry it's a little late, I've been having some horrible internet connections lately.

Anyway this week's color is WINTER FROST! I just love this paint!! With Christmas right around the corner, most of us are starting to think about those Christmas cards...well I think this paint is a must have!

Here's a quick card I made using Winter Frost:
Look at the shimmer!!

I also quickly made a tag this morning before I left for work, something I've been wanting to do the last few years, but never have! Maybe this will be the year! :)

Look at the beautiful shimmer you can add to your snowmen, a beautiful snow scene, ect!
Winter frost reminds me so much of those beautiful winter days when the sun is shining and reflecting on the snow! Don't you agree?!?!

Make sure to order your Winter Frost paint for your holiday cards! Also remember there are currently 4 special edition colors, get them before they're gone!

Have a fabulous evening!

Fishin' Around

Another adorable image from Faith at Designed 2 Delight! I love monkey's to begin with!

So first I'm going to share a current picture that was just taken a few week's ago at an amazing zoo we went to in Michigan with the kids and some friends. I was able to hold a baby chimp, his name was Louie! He was just TOO CUTE!

This week's image is called "fishin around". I wasn't able to put too much time into this card as I have a million things going on right now, but wanted to quickly get a card made for a friend's kid. I sent him a b-day card the other day and forgot to put his gift card in the card!

Close-up...

Isn't this image cute?!?!

In the inside of the card it says, "Fishing you a happy birthday!"

At the Double Delight Challenges this week we were to use ribbon, twine or string. They also had a nice sketch this week, which I somewhat went off of, but not completely.

Have a fabulous day!

Kendra

Autumn Stroll

This week's Creative Inspiration's Paints Challenge is "Autumn Stroll...colors, sights, and thoughts of autumn". Going through my stash of fall stamps I found this stamp, which I thought would be fun to use as I never have used it before!

I kind of had a mental block as I was putting this card together, but am satisfied with how it turned out.

Look at the shimmer!!
I just love using the paints with my water brush. Your able to make areas dark, while making some areas lighter to give a nice look. Plus I just love the SHIMMER!!

Make sure to check the CI Blog out for the other design team creations!

Have a "shimmery" day!

Tuesday Color Spotlight: Blue Ice

Happy Tuesday everyone! This week I'm taking a look at CI Paints color Blue Ice.

And what a great way to show it off by making a masculine card! I usually have a tough time making cards for the guys as I don't own too many manly stamps. But am very pleased with the way this card turned out. It's a simple, yet a fun card I made using my Cricut.

I cut out "Happy Birthday" from Cricut cart "Beyond Birthdays".

The stars were cut from Cricut cart "George and the Basic Shapes" along with the squares and rectangle.
Both the sentiment and stars were then painted with CI Paints "Blue Ice" to add a clear irridescent with blue highlights to them. I just love the shimmer, it always just adds a nice final touch.

Here are two different close-up shots of "Blue Ice" on a blue piece of paper and on plain cardstock. I love the hint of blue shimmer!

Yet great paint from CI Paints that is a clear irridescent with a color highlight that leaves the paper, brad, ribbon, ect. the original color and just adds a special touch of shimmer, in this case a highlight of blue!

Have a great day!

Kendra

I met up with my friend's Michelle and Lisa (my scrap buddies) the other night for supper and to finish planning our Scrap Fest trip to The Mall of America! (I CAN'T WAIT!!) Less then a month now!

Anyway my friend Michelle bought us all this cute t-shirt to wear! I just love it!
As I mentioned last month I bought the new i-rock tool, which I just "HAD" to have! I use it so much!

Anyway this was the first time blinging up something other then a scrapbook page or card. I added some gems to the crown! How cool is that?!?! It was so easy!

Fall Harvest

This week's Designed2Delight image is for fall, which is right around the corner. You may think I'm crazy saying this, but I can't wait! I usually have from around Nov. 1st until the middle of March off....so I am so looking forward to spending my days with the kids, family and crafting!! I've been working way too many hours lately!

Over at Double Delight Challenges, the challenge this week was "Clean and Simple", which would explain this simple card!

Summer Stroll CI Paints Challenge

Another great CI Paints Challenge this week...SUMMER STROLL! I can't believe summer is almost over with! :( Pretty soon all the beautiful flowers will be gone. I love summer, for I just LOVE playing in my flower beds!

I sure am liking our weather better, last week it was up in the 90's all week (not fun to work in at all) and this week it's in the mid-70's! I love it! Makes working outside fun again!

When I think of summer, I think of flowers, so I first am sharing one of my favorite flowers from in my garden!
I just LOVE my Stargazer Lilies! Every flower bed I put in at least one Stargazer is planted! I think I have about a dozen of them throughout the yard!

And a picture of my front flower bed!

Make sure to check out the CI Blog to see all the other fun summer projects!

Now onto my project for this week's challenge!
I just got these awesome Great Impression's Stamps from a friend....I jusy love them!! Thanks for the stamps!

I thought it would be so cool to stamp the image twice and use the 2nd one to cut a few of the flowers to make it look 3-D!

I think it is so stunning! This stamps is their current stamp of the month called "Flowe Cluster" #G375.
I used CI Paints Amethyst, Plum and Lavender to color in the flower cluster with beautiful shimmer!

Here's a close-up of the other stamp! This one is alsp part of the stamp of the month stamps called "Dragonfly Wishes" #G377.

I used CI Paints Sky Blue, Sage, Mellow Yellow and Amethyst to give the flowers, dragonflies and butterflies some shimmer! I used a water brush to paing on these colors to give just a light detail to them. The dragonflies wings look irridescent.

Have a great day!

Play Date Cafe Challenge #43

I made this card for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge. Creative Inspiration Paints is the sponsor this week, one lucky winner will get to choose 12 colors of their choice! How exciting!! Play along for your chance to win!

To be eligible you must use the color scheme (pictured below) and link in on the PDCC Blog. You're not required to use CI Paints on this challenge, however if you do use CI Paints, we'd also love to see your creation's posted in our inlinz on the CI Paints blog.

Each week they give a color story and you can play along my making a card. This week's color story:

When I saw this image I right away thought of this cute little house mouse stamp I have and haven't used it in awhile! So it was time to blow of the dust (well not really, but it sounded good)...and bring it out to play!
Look at the shimmer!! I'm so use to always coloring the flower pink or purple, but really like this color blue! I always see the pretty, bright colored daisies when I go grocery shopping at Copps. One of these times I'm going to have to just break down and buy them!

Below are the Creative Inspiration Paints I used:
Emerald, Sky Blue and Sage

Have a great day!

Tuesday Color Spotlight: Pink Highlights

Good morning! This week I'm going to take a look at the color Pink Highlights! This paint is another clear iridescent, like "Fairy Dust" (which was last week's Color Spotlight), but this one has pink highlights!

You could use this paint to alter just about anything you want to give some clear shimmer to with a tint of pink! It would be adorable on baby girl cards, which is on my list of things to do! But I was in a flower mood this week.

I created these two cards. I got these lovely flower stamps from my friend Shawn and hadn't used them yet, so I thought it was about time I did!A close-up....The paint along with the ink color almost made the paint look like it had a hint of purple in it!
Another card:
You can see the pink highlights in this close-up shot:

Remember to check out the blog hop going on right now for a chance to win an amazing prize!! The chance to enter ends tomorrow night! Also make sure to order you LIMITED EDITION paints before they are gone!

Have a wonderful day!

CI Paints 1 Year Anniversary Blog Hop

We're celebrating the one year anniversary of Creative Inspirations Paints with a fun blog hop!

You should have arrived here from Clare's beautiful blog. If you didn't please start at the CI Paints blog. Molly at CI Paints is giving away a wonderful aniversary prize, so you don't want to miss out! On each one of the design team members blog you'll recieve a letter, which will spell out the clue you'll need to enter to win the prize!

The LIMITED EDITION colors are: Ivory, Beige, Denium and Burgundy. Below is a picture of all the colors.
Aren't they amazing? I just love the shimmer of these paints! Make sure to order yours before the are no longer available! They'll be available until December 31st!

Well I created 2 different projects for this blog hop. The first one is a layout of my little guy! He loves taking walks and going to the park!Since the background piece is shimmery, I had a really hard time taking a close-up shot of the layout. I used Ivory to cover the letters Park, Beige to use on the edges of the story, Burgundy was used on the work the. I also used Ivory and Beige to alter the stickers. I have a TON of stickers from years ago when I first started scrapping, before the Cricut was around, so I no longer use them at all! So I thought I better start doing something with them or give them to Sawyer or toss! So to added a little spice to them and added some shimmer!!

Next is a quick wedding card I made for the wedding we had to go to yesterday. I used Denium on the man's bowtie, Beige on their hair, Ivory on her dress and Burgundy on the flowers. I just love these LIMITED EDITION colors!
I suppose I should give out my letter, as I am sure you are waiting for it! :) Thanks for stopping by my site, I hope you enjoyed! The letter you are looking for from my is:

R

Now onto Lisa's great site!

Remember to order these special colors before they're gone! If you buy all four you get a discount!! Have a wonderful Sunday! Happy blogging!!

Cherish These Moments

A quick layout I made last night! Both the kids were in bed early, that NEVER happens, so I made sure to take advantage of the free time, although I wasn't feeling the greatest.

I used Cricut carts Calligraphy and Storybook on this layout.I just love these first pictures that were taken of the two of them!

Party Time: Bags

Another fabulous challenge at the CI Paints blog this week!! This week's challenge was "Party Time: Gift Wrap....Bags....Boxes....", once again another thing I have to admit I never did. So this was another fun challenge.

Make sure to check the blog out to see the other wonderful creations!

I went shopping the other day and bought a few gift bags that I thought it would be fun to alter. I had a lot of fun last week making the party favors, so I made a bag to go along with them, but as I was finishing up, I decided instead of using the bag for Ava, I was going to put her little girlfriend's name on it, "Emma". As she will be turing 1 in November, so we'll put her gift in it!

A close-up picture of the crown. I cut the crown from "Sweet Treats". I just love that cart! Look at the shimmer!! I used CI Paints Sky Blue, Mint and Bright Yellow.

If you haven't already check the Creative Inspirations Paints Website out, you really should. There are so many wonderful colors to choose from. I gave one of my paints to a friend and she just e-mailed me the other day telling me she's ADDICTED! She had to order a few more paints for herself!! :)

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Catch of the Day!

Back around Father's Day we recieved this fish image from Faith at Designed 2 Delight and I just haven't had a chance to use it until today! My Grandpa loves fishing, so I thought this image would be perfect to use on his birthday card!

I used CI Paints Blue Ice, Green Olive, Sage, Emerald and Autumn Wheat.

Have a beautiful day!

Tuesday Color Spotlight: Fairy Dust

Welcome to Tuesday's Color Spotlight!

Today I'm going to look at one of my favorite CI Paints....Fairy Dust!! I go through this one a lot! I love it!

Fairy Dust is a clear iridescent that can be used to add shimmer to just about anything, while leaving the original paper, brad, ink, etc. the original color.

I really like how you can use Fairy Dust to add shimmer to designed paper. No more having to buy expensive shimmery designed paper when you can use what you already have at home and just use the paint to add shimmer anywhere you'd like. (Not saying it's not fun to buy new paper....but if you'd ask my husband he'd say I killed millions of trees with all the paper I own and he likes to tell people if our house would start on fire my craft room would be the first to burn with all the paper!)

Another photo of using Fairy Dust to add shimmer to a few of the circles.

This is a piece of paper I used on one of my last projects. I thought Sky Blue was a great match to the color in the center of the flowers (bottom circle), but this is just to show how Fairy Dust adds a shear shimmer rather than shimmer and color. The top two circles I just used Fairy Dust.

Who doesn't like shimmery paper?!?! I sure do! I really like that you can use Fairy Dust to add shimmer to whatever sheet of paper you'd like! Once again no more having to pay more for paper already with shimmer! You can just use your CI Paints! These paints have so many great uses!!

Here is the card I created for this week:

One last great thing about Fairy Dust is you can color your image in and use the paint to add shimmer to the areas you'd like while keeping the original color. Same goes along with using inks. Sometimes I like to ink the edges of my paper and then brush on Fairy dust to also add some shimmer.

Fairy Dust is a must have! Check the paints out on the website!

Have a wonderful day!
