Let It Snow Shaker

Hello Stamping Friends!

I'm on the YNS Blog today sharing how I created a super fun card using the Circle Panel Die  that I absolutely LOVE !!

It is so much fun to work with!!  I got a bunch of awesome comments on the first one I created using and crafty friends asking how I made it!  So I thought I would share how I created my shaker card, scene here, using this fun die!

I started by running the die and a piece of white cardstock through my Big Shot!

I carefully removed the die and die cut piece, as I didn't want all the negative pieces to fall out as I want to leave some in place.

I laid the die cut piece on my work station with the front side down and began to figure out which ones I was keeping white (I ran tape across to keep adhered to the die cut), which ones would be replaced with pattern paper (removed the circle completely) and which ones would become shaker parts (left in place for now and place a black dot).
Once I had it all figured out, I ran tape in all areas possible.  I then adhered a piece of acetate across the entire back of this layer.

I then flipped the layer over to view the front!

As I wanted to add the sentiment and along with some snowflakes, before I start adding the foam for the shaker windows!

I decided to stamp the "Let it Snow" sentiment from the adorable Little Darling Winter stamp set in Black Olive Ink!  With the 12" of snow we are currently getting, I found it very fitting!  I also decided to add a few of the tiny snowflakes from the set as well!

Before turning back around, I decided to add my pattern pieces of paper!  I used the super cute new Winter Plaids paper pad!!

You can cut your pattern paper into little strips, so that you can place them exactly where you need the die cut circles!  This helps in not wasting the entire piece of pattern paper.

Once you have all your pieces cut you can either add tape or glue to the back of each piece and place them back in place on the acetate!

I then flipped from front to back to figure which circles I needed to remove for my shaker portion (pieces with the black dot)!  Once they are all removed, you are then ready to add some fun to your card!

I used foam 3D tape to create each of the individual shaker windows. I also added some extra around the card, so that the entire card would evenly have dimension once I added the layer to my card base.
So much fun!!

Here's my finished card:
I love all the little shaker windows, combined with the pattern paper!  So fun!!

I'm so excited, the holidays are right around the corner!!  The spirit has hit me the last few days!!
For my hop project, I decided to focus on creating a 3D Gift Box for a special gift for my mom!  She's been through a lot these last few weeks!

I purchased two birthstone charms (my kids birth months) for her charm bracelet she recently got, as well as a rhinestone heart charm!  I thought it would be super special to create a special box to present them to her in!

So I started by finding a cute .svg box file I really liked!  I cut it out on my Cameo two times!  This box actually cuts out as one piece!  I wanted to cut one layer up so that I could use two different pieces of pattern paper!

I used a piece of lovely Holly Days Paper  (top) and a piece of Red Sweater Paper (bottom)!

I absolutely LOVE how this box turned out!!

I really like the Poinsettia Tangle stamp set!!  It is an absolutely gorgeous stamp set!  It's been one of my most go to wintery sets this holiday season!
The Christmas sentiment from the set is so beautiful!!  What a lovely sentiment!  There are an additional three lovely sentiments in the set as well!!

Here is a close-up of my Poinsettia:
Isn't it beautiful?!?!  I love how it turned out!!  I stamped the image two times on Vellum with VersaMark ink and embossed with a lovely Pearl Embossing Powder!!

I then fussy cut one the around the entire image and the second I fussy cut only a few of the petals, so that I could use a pop-dot between the two and make it look more 3-dimensional!!

I think my mom will really like this package!!

Miracle of Christmas

Hello Stamping Friends!

Today I am on the Inspired By Stamping Blog!!

With winter and cold weather in the air here, I decided to showcase the beautiful Snowflake Wonder stamp set! I am so in love with this beautiful set!

I can't believe the holidays are almost here!  I am really getting excited!!

I still had a few cards to create, so I thought of a fun way to mass produce a few!

I started by using the beautiful Snowflake Wonder stamp set to stamp the "May the miracle of Christmas fill your heart with warmth & love" on each of the cards I was creating.  I then stamped snowflakes on my card base in black ink a few times.
I stamped one of the large snowflakes first to the upper left of my sentiment and then a few of the smaller ones to my liking!

I stamped all the snowflakes in black as I wanted to "spotlight" the larger snowflake with my distress inks.

I used a circle die to die cut a mask on a post-it note.

Then I had some fun with my distress inks!!
So super fun and easy!  Going to add a nice little touch, I think!

Before I added the layers to my card bases, I decided to add some sheer shimmer to make the layer sparkle!!  I absolutely love sparkle!!

I then finished them up by adding the layer to my card base and adding some rhinestones for more sparkle!!
Would be such a awesome design to really mass produce a ton!  In my case I only did 4 for now!

Thanks for stopping by!!

YNS Challenge 54

Hello Stamping Friends!

Time for a new challenge at Your Next Stamp!!
Click here to find the current challenge!

Here's some inspiration for you:

Here is a card sketch....

and photo/colors to find inspiration from....

-----------------

I decided to find inspiration from a few of the colors and switch up the sketch slightly!

I used the adorable  Holiday Hello stamp set for the cute little birdie image!!
And the Holiday Owl stamp set for my "Holiday Greetings" sentiment, which I stamped with Black Olive Premium Dye Ink!  I just LOVE YNS's new ink pads!!

The die cut rectangle that I stamped the sentiment on is from the Pillow Box Die set!  I use this die a lot for this purpose!!  I used Olive Green Premium Dye Ink to ink up the edges of the rectangle!

The Circles with Stitching and Piercing Marks Die Set was used to create my shaker part of the card!!  SHAKE SHAKE!!  Shaker cards are so fun to create!!!  I've definitely make my share this year!!

I finished off my card by adding some Aqua Divine Twine and Green Apple Glittered Gumdrops!!

You are Simply Wonderful

Hello Stamping Friends!

I have a cute card to share with you using fun new dies from Frantic Stamper!!

For my card today I am using the beautiful Fancy Peacock!!
At first I was going to die cut it a few times to make its tale really colorful, but I absolutely fell in love with this piece of pattern paper from the  6x6 Washi Paper Assortment I got and kept going back to this piece as I thought it looked lovely in the background!  So I ended up adding some rhinestones to the tale instead!

The lovely "You are simply WONDERFUL" sentiment is from the Blissful Blooms stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy!!  I thought it was the perfect sentiment to go with this die cut!

December YNS DT Dare

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's DT Dare day at Your Next Stamp!!

DT Dare is....
CAS a Creation from the DT from 2016

What a fun dare!  I am always inspired by my fellow designers!  So it was fun to look back at projects created this year, but also hard to choose which one to CAS!

I ended up deciding to CAS Kymona's card from June:
Such a lovely clean and simple card!  I sometimes struggle with such CAS cards!  So I was very much inspired by her lovely card!

I switched a few things up and came up with this:
Such a fun and bright Birthday card!!

I started by using the Stripe-tastic Star Die Set to die cut the largest star from my card layer.

I then die cut the "Happy" and "Birthday" from the Scripty Happy Birthday Words Dies set on black cardstock!  I really like the bold script font used on these word dies!!

I finished off the card by adding a few Neon Sunrise Gumdrops which work perfectly with my neon sequins!!
I just LOVE shaker cards!!

Christmas Delivery

Hello Stamping Friends!

I am on the Your Next Stamp Blog today sharing how to create the a fun "Stand-Up" Card with the Half Circle Flip Die Set!

If you missed me sharing how to create a fun Flip-It card using the set, you can find it here.

Today I am sharing an alternate use for it!  You can also use this die set to create a fun stand-up cards as well!!

Once again I started by creating my A2 card base. (8 1/2" x  5 1/2") Scored at 4 1/4".

Lay down card base and find the center of the left half of the card base, which is 2 1/8″.

Similar to the Flip-It card, I decided to use the larger of the two dies from the Half Circle Flip Die Set.  As I really like that you can use the Circles with Stitching and Piercing Marks Die Set with it.

This is where the tutorial slightly changes from the Flip-It, when you place your cardstock in your die cutting machine, place the die just over the marks you created, with the circle facing to the right!

Run the die through your machine.

Once you take it out, fold the left side over to the right on the score line, like a normal card.
The you will fold along the score lines the die created, folding the piece so that is folds inside.

So that the circle will "stand up"!  Like this....
Now you are ready to decorate your fun card!!

Here is my finished card:
I used the super adorable new Christmas Delivery stamp for my main image!!  I just love this sweet image!

I added some Gumdrops to the "inside" of the card, so that it would help keep the "stand-up" portion up.

I stamped the "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas" to the inside of my card, which is part of the Santa's Magical Sleigh stamp set!
So super fun and easy to create!  Something a little different then the traditional card!

Spinner Card Fun

Hello Stamping Friends!!

I'm on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog today!!

Today I am going to share how to create a fun spinner card!

I started by coloring in two of the same penguin images from the adorable fun Penguin Fun stamp set!!  Now by all means you can use different images and even color the images differently!!  It so happens I was multitasking at the time at a retreat with some girlfriends and really wasn't thinking and colored them the same!  Which is fine!  But it would have been fun to change them up a little!

But anyway....after coloring them with my Copics I die cut them with the matching Penguin Dies!

So next I created my card base as well as the layers I wanted to use for the front of my card.  I used white cardstock for my card base, a piece of red for my bottom layer and then a piece of beautiful Winter Plaid!

You are then ready to die cut your circle.  You can first run your layers through if you like so you can see where the circle is going to sit, then set the layers on your card base and set the die back inside and lightly trace the inner part of the circle.  Remove and place the circle die only on that half of the card and run it through your die cutting machine again.

But if it isn't too think, which in my case it wasn't, you can run it through all together.

The take a smaller circle from the same die set or another one and die cut it two times.

Lay one face down and add string along the back, then add adhesive or pop-dots.  I decided to used pop-dots!
Then place the other circle on top!  Now you have your spinner portion done!!
Cut your string! Put aside for a few seconds.

Flip your card layers over and add adhesive to the back!  Then your string spinner portion to the back as pictured below:
I try to keep the strings straight and tight.

Now you are ready to add the adorable Penguins and finish up your fun card!!!

My finished card:
Isn't it adorable?!

I also used the circle die that I used to create the layers on my card to die cut a piece of Poinsettia Paper to place behind my spinner piece on the inside of the card!  As the spinner got a little lost being white with a white background.  I think it really pulled the whole card together nicely!!

So in love with this fun card!!

I have NEVER done this before and don't know how to edit videos or anything (so don't laugh!), but I created a quick little video to show the card in action:
Such a fun card!!
