Thinking of You

Hello Stamping Friends!

I have a elegant card to share with you using dies from Frantic Stamper!!

It's been awhile since I created a White on White card!!

I unfortunately need some Sympathy cards recently.  They are by far my least favorite to create, so I usually don't have any on hand.

The recent die release from Frantic Stamper had some awesome new dies that made creating this Sympathy card easy and fun:
I started off by using the awesome previously released Elementals #16  - Stitched Rectangle Frames (10091) die set! I adhered the outside frame to my cardbase.  The center portion I ran through my Big Shot with an embossing folder!!  I love the look it gives!!

I then die cut the beautiful new Floral Oval Medallion (10402) and adhered it to a regular die cut oval!
For my sentiment, I used the Your Next Stamp sentiment 'Thinking of You' from the Bunches of Happiness stamp set!  Which was stamped in VersaMark Ink and embossed with white embossing powder on a die cut banner from the Stitched Double Fishtail Labels (09735) die set!

After adding the sentiment banner, I used the Garden Blossoms #3 (10405) and Spring Foliage (10402) to add the die cut flower and leaves!!

Although I don't like creating Sympathy cards, I do really like how they usually turn out!  So beautiful and elegant!!

Sympathy

Hello Stamping Friends!

I have a sympathy card to share with you using fun dies from Frantic Stamper!!

As always, sympathy cards are so hard to make!  I really like a lot of the dies Frantic Stamper has to offer, as they really help in making these types of cards a little easier.

I decided to keep the card as clean and simple as possible, so I went with white on white for the most part.

I used the Deepest Sympathy die cut for my sentiment!
I then used the Large Calla Lilies to create the beautiful bouquet of lilies at the bottom of my card!

Be sure to check out all of Frantic Stamper's products here!!

Have a lovely day!

Deepest Sympathy

Hello Stamping Friends!

I always dread making Sympathy cards! Always!  Recently my best friend's dad passed away, so I unfortunately needed to create one.

I have to admit, this was probably the most enjoyable Sympathy card I have ever created, simply because I got to work with some amazing new dies from Frantic Stamper to create it!!

I am absolutely in love with the beautiful design of this card:
I used the new Lovely Arched Loop Edger and Lattice Insert to create the beautiful bottom of the card!  It adds such a elegant feel to the card!  I just love it!!

I also used the new Assorted Foliage to add the leaves behind the pretty flowers!
I added pearls to the die cut edger to add some more elegance!

I also used the previously released Deepest Sympathy die for my sentiment!

Be sure to check out all of Frantic Stamper's products here!!

Have a lovely day!

Deepest Sympathy

Hello Stamping Friends!

Today I am on the Inspired By Stamping Blog!!

I believe, like many people, I struggle with Sympathy cards.  I never have liked making them, but unfortunately sometimes we have to.

When the Garden Roses stamp set was release this month, I thought what a wonderful set it would be to use to create an elegant and beautiful Sympathy card.

So I am going to share with you today a fun and quick Sympathy card.

I started by using my VersaMark ink to stamp the open view of the rose in my bottom right corner of my card three times and then used white embossing powder to cover it.  I heat set it with my heat tool!

I then grabbed my Distress Ink Pad in Squeezed Lemonade and a dauber, so that I could add some color to the edge of my paper.

I inked up the dauber and added the ink by first dabbing it on my scratch piece of paper and then bringing the color onto my main piece in a circular motion.
Continue to your liking!

At first I started out thinking I was going to use a pink ink, but decided on a yellow as I wanted the roses to be a little subtle in the background.

My finished Sympathy card:

I added the sweet "someone so special will never be forgotten" and "With Deepest Sympathy" from the Big Sympathy stamp set!

I love the slight size difference between the two sentiments.  As well as the fonts used!  Makes for a really nice flow in my opinion!

I then added some twine and some enamel dots to finish off my card!
I think it makes for a really elegant Sympathy card!  I tend to like to create clean and simple Sympathy cards, since the matter at heart is pretty huge and heavy.

 Thanks for stopping by today!

We're celebrating 7 years!!!!
How very exciting!!

There are so MANY great new stamp sets and dies being released today!!! As well as, drum roll please, a new paper pack!!!

--------------------

So first up, I am using the super fun new Silly Monsters Rockstars!!  This stamp set is so much fun!!  I love it!  I also used the coordinating Silly Monster Rockstars Dies, to cut out this silly monster!!
The sentiments in this stamp set are super fun as well!!

I'm also extremely excited for the new Circle Panel Die, which the silly monster is placed above!  I can see I will be using this die a lot!  So many fun possibilities with it!

Behind the panel, I used a new piece of the Swirly Fun paper!!
This little rockstar was placed on my card with an Action Wobble!! :)  So he can really rock out!!

I finished up my card by adding some yummy sparkly Gumdrops!!

----------

Next up I am featuring two new stamp sets, the beautiful Framed Flowers and the Whatnot Sentiments Seven!!

The Framed Flowers stamp set has six different floral images!
I used three of them for my card:
I used the new Stitched Peek-a-Boo Door and Frame die set, for the frame, to create the bold black frames!!  I think it really makes the flowers stamp on!

I love the Whatnot Sentiment series YNS has to offer! So I was so super excited to see there was another one being released!!  I decided to first use the Sympathy sentiment from the new Whatnot Sentiments Seven!!  Like many people I am not a fan of creating these type of cards, but it needs to be done occasionally.

And as in most cases, I finished off my card by adding some yummy Gumdrops!!

Be sure to check out all the awesome new products here!!!!

Please reference our linky at the bottom of this post for the entire hop list.

Alternative to Watercolors

Good Morning Stamping Friends!!

I am on the Inspired By Stamping Blog today, featuring a twist to use something other than watercolors!

So recently I was just "thinking" (yes, I know, sometimes bad!) while the kids were doing some painting on canvas's!  They have a ton of acrylic paints that they have gotten at Hobby Lobby that they absolutely love using.

I thought, it would be cool if I could think of a way to use them on a card sometime.  So I decided to give it a try!

So I collected, in my case, two different acrylic paints I wanted to use, a paint brush, plate, stamps and water!
Watercolor
Acrylic paint can be very think and bright, so I used the water to thin it down to get more of a watercolor effect.

Shown in the picture above are the acrylic paints I used on the left and right and in the center is one of them watered down.

You do have to play with the paint and water a little to find a consistency you like.

Here are a few examples:
Watercolor2

I decided I liked that black stamped and embossed image best.
Watercolor3

So I created this fun and simple Sympathy card:
WatercolorCard
The elegant "With Sympathy" sentiment is part of the All Year Wishes II stamp set!

Sympathy cards are no fun to create.  But I do like how this one turned out.  Nice and simple.
WatercolorCard2
The beautiful floral image I used is part of the Friends Forever stamp set!

So if you don't have watercolors around the house to watercolor with, try out some acrylic paints!!
