Time for some halloween fun! In the last issue of Scrapbook Etc. they had some adorable treat buckets! So I had to give the "frankenstein treat bucket" a try!
It turned out SO cute!
I made this along with my card from Saturday to show off on the
CI Paints blog today! We're on our third term and have a bunch of new faces and new things happening, so make sure to check it out! Each day there will be something new...tutorial, inspiration and challenges on Sunday!
I used CI Paint "Winter Frost" for his eyes.
And "Onyx" for his hair.
Here's how to make your own:
1. Take a 12 x 12 inch sheet of green cardstock.
2. Score each side at 4" and 8" and fold. (picture below)
3. Cut to the center fold were you scored at 4" and 8" on one side and then do the same on the opposite side of the sheet. (picture below)
4. Fold the box together and as you are use adhesive to hold it together.
Box all adhered together!
5. You can either cut one piece of 12" x 1 1/2" or cut four pieces of 4" x 1 1/2" out of black paper for his hair. I did 4 seperate pieces.
6. Cut little triangles out of the bottom of each pieve to make his hair. I then used
CI Paint "Onyx" to add shimmer to his hair.
(Now this is where I got really excited to get him together and forgot to take more pictures...sorry)
7. Using either punches or a die cutting machine cut white circles for his eyes. I cut mine at 1 1/2" and another at 1 1/4". I painted the white circles with
CI Paint "Winter Frost" to add some glimmer to his eyes!
8. Cut the centers of his eyes on black cardstock, mine were cut at 1 1/4" and 1".
9. Cut a 1/2" circle out of green card stock and cut in have which was used for his eyelids.
10. Put the eyes together and adhere them to the box.
11. Add a button for his nose.
12. Either use a black crayon/marker to draw his half smile. Or I cut out a 1 1/4" circle and cut out a smile from that piece.
13. Use rollos to add to the sides as his "bolts".
14. Lastly add candy! (and ohh and ahh at how cute it is!!)
I plan to make a bunch more for the kids friends and family for Halloween! I was surprised that they hold a nice amount of candy in them!
Hope you enjoy this quick and easy treat box, I thought it was really cute when I saw it.
