ScrapFest 2010

When I went to Scrapfest this year in MN with my friends I was lucky enough to get to meet my NSSS (Not So Secret Sister) Shawn!  What a sweetheart she is!  Hope we'll be able to meet up again someday!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider...

"The Itsy Bitsy Spider climbed up the water spout..." - I've had that song going through my head as I was working on this card! This song gets sung a lot in our household, our little guy likes singing it.

Anyway here is a quick Halloween card I put together tonight.

Great Impressions Rubber Stamps had some adorable Halloween stamps in their "Stamp of the Month" program last month!  I used Itsy Bitsy Spider (AA23), Spider Web (G379) and Spider Tree (H202).

My card:

I used CI Paints "Fairy Dust" to cover the cob webs in the tree and the web in the upper corner to give them some shimmer.

Happy Birthday Tag

A quick Birthday tag I made to go on my friend's gift for her birthday!!

I used a new dollar delight digi (Cuppy Cake) from Faith's Designed 2 Delight Digi Stamps.

I added a little "Tutu Pink" Creative Inspirations Paints to give the "CUPPY CAKE" some shimmer!

World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day...like many of you I just love making cards!  It's so great to put a smile on someone's face!  I get such joy out of creating cards!

It wouldn't be right without making a card today, so here it is!:

Isn't it cute?  I got the "Create a Critter" cart last month and hadn't used it yet, so that was one of my goals!  My little girl's friend is going to be turning one soon, so I thought I'd get ahead of myself and create a card for her birthday already!  After creating it, I think I'm going to have to make one for my little girl as well!

I cut the flowers out and painted them with "Tickled Pink" Creative Inspirations Paints to add some beautiful shimmer!  I then used VersaMagic Chalk Ink "Pink Petunia" around the endges of the flowers and lightly crimped them.  And lastly added some bling to the middle using my i-rock! (I love that tool!!) I used pop-dots to add some dimension to the flowers and really like how they ended up turning out!

I added CI Paints "Onyx" to the black cardstock after I cut the zebra's body out. I used my Candy Cane Stripe Cuttlebug folder to emboss the white cardstock of the zebra. Again I used pop-dots to have the zebra raised.

 And lastly I added CI Paints "Tickled Pink" the the shadow on Fab!

These paints really add such a great touch to any card.  They add such a great complete touch!

Bearing Gifts

"Bearing Gifts" a cute new digital image from Faith at Designed 2 Delight.  It's available in her shop along with many other cute images.

The original image only has one balloon attached to the wagon handle, but my little guy is going to be 3, so I thought it would be cool to add a few more balloons.

I used CI Paint "Sky Blue" to add some beautiful shimmer to the balloons!

 I also used Sage, Silver Frost, Mellow Yellow and Fairy Dust to add shimmer to other parts of the image.

Using a cotton ball I sponged "Sky Blue" and "Sage" paints to add shimmer to the paper with the sentiment on.

Tuesday Color Spotlight: Denium

This week's color is DENIUM!  It happens to be one of the limited edition colors right now!  Make sure to order this color or you get it in the set of four limited edition colors before they're gone (and save some money)!  Order before Decemeber 31st!

My creation:

The background stamp is Hero Arts "Flourish Background" (CG119) and I used CI Paint DENIUM to give it some shimmer.  How fun to use the paints to also color in background stamps!  The shimmer adds just the right touch to make the card complete.

I also colored in the main flower with the paint!

I embossed the "Floating Garden Stamp" and then used distressed inks to color in the image.  I really like the results.

I just love these paints!

This week's freebie at Designed 2 Delight is a wonderful sympathy set.  Thankfully I haven't had to make too many of these cards, but now I will have one on hand when I do need one someday - hopefully a long time from now!

The set is called "Peace and Comfort".

Here is my card:

A close-up of the flowers.  I printed the image twice.  Layer (1) is the main layer and (2) I cut out the flowers and made each one of them at a little different height to make the image 3-D.

If you missed out on getting this image free, you can purchase it in the shop.

I used this week's sketch from CardPatterns: Sketch 83, which I think worked perfectly for this card.
