Party Time: Party Favors

Although I'm on Team B for CI Paints and really don't need to post until next week, I thought it would be fun to play along this week as it sounded like a fun challenge! This is something I have never done before, their challenge this week is "Party Time: Party Favors"!

CI Paints is celebrating it's 1 year Anniversary this month! How exciting! Congrats Molly! These paints are truely amazing! Mark your calendars August 15th will be our first CI Paints blog hop!!

Check the blog out to see all the creative projects!

I know I'm a little ahead of myself, but it's the only party coming up that I could think of, as I thought it would be fun to actually use what I create. I can't believe my little girl is going to be 1 in January! It feels like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant with her. I wish I could freeze time, both her and her brother are so much fun at their ages right now! I don't want them to grow up!! (keep dreaming...right?!?)

Here are the cute little party favors I've been creating this past week! I think they turned out so cute! Just perfect for a little girl's party! Not sure what I am going to put in them yet, but I think I have some time to think about that!

I first cut the favors from my Cricut at 3", using "Sweet Treats", which I just recently got as I thought it would be a fun cart to use the treats on cards and lo's for the kids. Looking through the book I got so excited when I found this crown favor!!

Then I gathered some items I thought would be fun to alter the crowns with. I then began "playing" to see what I thought looked the best.

Each crown is unique in it's own way. A few of them I just added embelishments to and painted with CI Paints.

Others I put "happy birthday" on one side, which was painted with CI Paints and "Ava" on the other side which was also painted with the paints.
Close-up picture's of the writing. I used the Sweet Treats cart for the "happy birthday" and for "Ava" I used the Songbird cart.

For these favors I used CI Paints: Pink Highlights, Sunshine and Plum

As you probably have guessed by now her 1st birthday party is going to be themed "Princess"! I think all little girls should have a princess party sometime! :)

I am also super excited, as I have a friend from High School that hopefully will be making a castle cake for her b-day. Here is a picture of a sand castle birthday cake she made for another little girl's party.

Isn't she talented as well?

I hope you enjoyed my birthday favors I made for my little princess! I had so much fun making these!! Thanks Kassi for another fun challenge! Have a wonderful day!

Christmas in July!

Well, actually, a few days late! We recieved this adorable "Heartfelt Wishes" digi stamp from Faith at Designed 2 Delight to celebrate Christmas in July! Not only is Christmas one of my favorite holidays, but I LOVE snowmen!! Isn't he cute?

Recieving this digi got me so excited for Christmas! It also got me thinking...I better start thinking about making Christmas cards, rather then waiting till last minute!

I used CI Paint Winter Frost to and some beautiful shimmer to the snowman and Fairy Dust to add shimmer to the heart!
I used Sky Blue to add shimmer to the snowflake which I cut out from my Graphically Speaking cart! And then add a gem to the middle! This weeks Double Delight Challenge was to make your own embelishment.

CI Paints and Marbles

Who thought CI Paints and marbles couldn't go together!?!?!?!?

Well I was sitting around my craft area last night thinking what I could do for today to be creative and I saw my lonely little marbles sitting on my craft shelf wanting some attention.

A year or so ago I had see a tutorial on using marbles to make a pattern on your paper you use.
So I thought it would be fun to try the technique with the CI Paints!

I used an empty SU Stamp set container as it works really well. I first took some clear small pop-dots and put them on the back side of the paper to keep the paper in place in the container
I then used a paint brush dipped in the color of your choice, in this case I used Green Olive, and painted the bottom of the container.

Then you can pick up the container and shack it! Do a little dance, whatever you'd like! :) The marbles roll in the paint and over the paper to add an interesting texture to the background!

Here is a picture of what the paper looked like when I was done.

I decided to do the process over, this time using Evergreen.

Just look at the paper! Isn't it pretty?!?! I just LOVE the shimmer!

Here is a picture of the actual piece I used.

I used a toothpick to get into the smaller areas of the image, where a paint brush was a little too big.

My finished card:
I think it's a great card for just about any male that likes a nice cold beer!

A close-up! Shimmer-ific!
I like using CI Paints for this technique, almost better then just plain ink, as it give the paper such a nice shimmer!

I used CI Paints: Green Olive, Blue Ice, Citrus

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Jungle Time ~ Our Little Cheetah

Another fun challenge for CI Paints! Our challenge this round is "Jungle Time" with chipboard or grungeboard embellies. I just got a TON of pictures printed of the kids, which has now put me even further behind on their scrapbooks (I take WAY too many pictures!). So along with this challenge, I've decided to make a challenge for myself, by creating a layout with this rounds challenge from CI Paints! And I have to admit, I think, it turned out really cute!

Make sure to check out the CI Paints blog to see all the other great projects!

We had this adorable outfit from a friend of mine for Ava and she looked so adorable in it!

My layout:

Firstly, I went through all my papers looking for a cheetah like paper to use and found this one

...but it wasn't really what I wanted. So my creative juices started flowing and I thought what a great idea it would be to use the paints to alter the paper the way I wanted it to be!! I used CI Paint "Tickled Pink" in the centers of the cheetah markings. I also used ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad "Pink Pastel" to lightly add some pink to the paper to make it a little more "GIRLY"! I was so much happier with this paper now that it was altered!

I bought some chipboard shapes from Hobby Lobby as I thought these hearts would be a cute accent to the layout. Especially coated with "Chocolate" CI Paint!! I just love the shimmer! I also added a flower to each heart.

2nd Heart:
Here is a close-up picture of the flowers next to the little write-up. I bought these flowers on my last trip to Archiver's, I just HAD to have them. They are by Flora Doodles and the package has 80 jeweled flowers, which are all white. I though they would be perfect for coloring with the CI Paints to match my projects! I used "Tickled Pink" and "Tutu Pink" to cover these flowers.

Just a close-up picture of the layered paper behind to main photo. I used my new EK Success punch "Diamond Lace" along with my new i-rock to add some bling!

Once I again I have to say "I LOVE THESE PAINTS!!" You're probably sick of me saying that, but it is true! There are so many uses for them on any project you create. I really just love the added shimmer they give a project! There are so many great colors to choose from, check it out!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!

Sunflowers

In my last package from Molly, she sent us some beautiful Great Impressions Stamps! I just love this sunflower one! I decided to make a card for my mom's birthday next week! I made this card for my tutorial/color matching post for the CI Paints blog.

My card:

The BEAUTIFUL shimmer! I just love it! Yesterday, Kassi did a great tutorial on the CI Paints blog on watercoloring with the paints, one of my favorite things to do with them!

I used "Sea Foam" to color in the centers of the flowers on the background paper to give it a littls shimmer!
I also used "Buttercup" to alter my brads so that they would match my colored image!! How cool is that?!?! I didn't have to pay extra for shimmery brads that wouldn't have matched exactly!

I just LOVE how there are so many different things you can do with these paints! The possibilities are truely endless!

Have a SHIMMER-TASTIC day!

Check out back Thursday to seemy Jungle Time project for this week's CI Challenge!

Have a Mice Day!

Another cute image from Faith at Designed 2 Delight called "Mice Day"! I'm not a big fan of mice, but think this one is cute!! :)

The Double Delight Challenge this week using Faith's image is "BUTTONS"! I have to admit I didn't have any in my stash! I just gave the ones I had away not to long ago as I wasn't using them and a friend needed some! So that called for a little shopping! And of course I got more then just buttons!....THANKS ladies! :)

Summer Fun; Ava's Album

I got Ava's "Summer Fun" page done for her album the other day, but had a hard time getting on the PC to get it posted. Been too busy with work. We had a big Japanese party we needed to prepare the Aurora Hospital Healing Garden for, so I've been working like crazy this week to get it looking 110% and of course it had to rain a lot this week, so I worked longer days and had to work in the rain a little to get everything just perfect! But it ended up being a beautiful evening and the rain held off...I was so happy it even was sunny for a little while!! I got to go buy a cute little black dress for the evening, so it was a nice night! On top of preparing for the night, the little princess has been teething! OMG...it's been horrible! She's nothing but crabby and fussy! She's been running a 100 temp, I feel so bad for her! Sawyer was the exact opposite! We never knew he was getting a tooth until it popped through! It seems as though today she's feeling a little better!

Anyway here is her lo:
Just a close up of the title and bling!

Have a great Saturday!

Summer Fun; Sawyer's Album

Just before Sawyer's 2nd Birthday we were playing outside on a hot Saturday afternoon and I thought I'd like the kiddos cool off in some buckets of water, as the blow up swimming pool had gotten a leak and we had to take it down. They had such a blast splashing in the buckets of water!! No sooner did I get them both in the house and dried off, their grandma and gradpa came over with a new plastic pool, so they both were out in the pool then! Grandma just couldn't picture them splashing in a bucket and had to get a pool for Sawyer's birthday!! I thought it was a cute idea, I can remember being little and I loved playing in the buckets!

This layout is for Sawyer's album and I am currently still working on a layout for Ava's album.

I used CI Paints "Sky Blue" to cover this arrow chipboard shape. I just love the added touch of shimmer.

Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Ava

I've been spending some time (when I can find the spare time with the two little active munchkins) trying to not get too far behind on their scrapbooks!

I just did this LO yesterday for Ava's album.

I just recently got the i-rock and LOVE it! I just love bling so found the tool to be a MUST have! I had read that you can use the Iron-on Crystals (Glamour Glitz) from Hobby Lobby. So I took a trip the other night to check it out. I bought a few packages, which isn't really cheaper thatn buying the regular i-rock gems. I actually believe buying the i-rock crystals is a lot cheaper, although there is more of a color variety of gems at Hobby Lobby, which I liked. I tend to use a lot of pink, so it was great to just buy a package of pink crystals.

I added this little flourish to the flower with some Amethyst crystals. I didn't use the stencil I had and rather free-handed this one and am very happy with how it turned out! Yay!

Details:
LO Size: 12" x 12"
Paper: Random Scraps
CI Paints: Light Purple
Cricut Cart.: Songbird
Ink: VersaMagic "Purple Petunia"
Misc.: Purple Paper Flowers, Spare-Parts "printed brads" from the Paper Studio, plain purple brads, Glamour Glitz Iron-on Crystals "Amethyst"

Just "CHICKEN" in with you!

Another cute Designed 2 Delight image from Faith called "Cluck". If you missed out on geting this freebie you can purchase it her lovely digi stamp store. She has such cute digi's! I just love making cards with them.

I used CI Paints Orange, Burnt Red and Pink Highlights to add a little shimmer to the chicken!

This week's Double Delight Challenge is "Pop-It-Up!" Which I just love doing with images, as I was printing the image I was thinking about using pop-dots to pop up certain parts of the chicken, but then remembered I needed to check the Double Delight Challenge blog to see what their challenge was this week. I was so excited to see it was "Pop-It Up!"

I added a cute baby chick as it needed something and I had forgotten to put on the twine I was going to use.

Cricut Expression

My husband took me to Menard's today to get the Cricut Expression, I am so excited to finally have the E! My poor baby will probably collect some dust now. I feel a late night coming on tonight, playing with my new toy!! :)
