YNS Challenge 85

Hello Stamping Friends!

Time for a new challenge at Your Next Stamp!!

Click here to find the current challenge!
There is a fun sketch and colors to find inspiration from!!

-----------------

I found some inspiration in the sketch and grabbed two of the colors!!

I absolutely love the new Geometrics 6x6 Paper Pad and Sweet Baby 6x6 Paper Pad!  So I decided to grab the grey and yellow from the inspiration colors so I could use some paper from each of the pads!!

My 'birthday' sentiment is from the Happy Everything stamp set!  And I die cut the Happy Die a few times and layered them together to give the happy a little dimension!!  I love doing this!!
I also did the same with the Scallop Star Edge Die, I first die cut the edger from grey cardstock and then a few times from yellow, so that I could layer the stars a few times to give some interest!!  Fun!!

Margarita Day with YNS

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's Feature Day at Your Next Stamp!!

Feature Day Theme Is....
Margarita Day

Today is National Margarita Day which focuses on appreciating the margarita, a tequila-based alcoholic cocktail.  The origins of National Margarita Day are not well documented, although accounts of the day begin to emerge in the 1990s.
A margarita is cocktail made of tequila, triple sec and either lime or lemon juice served in a cocktail glass with salt on the rim.  Like the origin of the holiday, the origin of margarita is unclear as numerous bar tenders worldwide have laid claim on the drink's creation.   Several bartenders and restaurant owners in Mexico allege to have created the drink for a female friend with a name similar to Margarita.  Given that the cocktail contains tequila, the drink may have originated somewhere in Mexico. In fact, the tequila used in margaritas is made from blue agave plants that grow in Los Altos, Mexico. This holiday is observed every year on February 22nd.

I've honestly never really heard of Margarita Day! But I'd love to celebrate with one!! LOL!  I love margaritas!!

Here is the card I created:
I used the super fun Cheers! stamp set for the yummy drink, which I colored with my Copics, as well as paper pieced the umbrella!  I used my Cameo to die-cut the 21 from my white cardstock!  My little sister turns 21 next month, so hard to believe!!

I added the large 'Happy' from the Happy Everything stamp set in Holly Berry Red Ink!  I die cut the banner from the Cool Tags Two Patterns Die Set and stamped the 'birthday', also from the  Happy Everything stamp set in Black Olive Ink!

I finished off my card by adding some Crystal Clear and Sparkle Gumdrops!!

YNS 2016 in Review Blog Hop

Hello Stamping Friends!

Welcome to YNS's December Year in Review Hop!!!

What an amazing year it has been at YNS!

So many awesome new stamp sets!
Dies!

And the introduction of PAPER and INK!!!

I have been so thankful to be able to work with a bunch of the different products!!

--------------------

For today's project, we were to use some of our favorite stamps and/or dies released this year!

For the record, this was extremely hard for me!

WHY?!

Well I LOVE everything YNS!
I had no clue what to use as I have loved everything released this year, I have way too many favorites!!

I actually started a few projects as I wasn't sure what I really wanted to make!

Then looking again through all my supplies I ended up deciding to create this cute little package:
A good friend of mine is having a Birthday right after Christmas and she wanted cute necklaces for work, so I decided to created this cute little package to put the necklace I got her in!  The Pillow Box Die was not new this year, but I absolutely LOVE using it!!  It is so great to use for Gift Cards as well!!

I used the Happy Everything stamp set, which was released this year!  I love this stamp set!  I've used it a lot!  I really like the large fancy font used for the "Happy"!!  Which I stamped in Black Olive Premium Die Ink Pad!!  So excited YNS released their own line of lovely ink colors this year!!

There are 11 other tiny sentiments in the Happy Everything stamp set as well, in this case I used the "birthday"!  So many uses in this one stamp set makes it a perfect set to own!!

I also used an older stamp set, Spring Birds, to add the sweet flowers to two of the corners.

I also used the new Flower Cube Die Set to die cut the three cute flowers to add to my package!  And as I say a lot, as I am obsessed with them, I finished off my package by adding some Give Thanks to Sparkle Gumdrops to the centers of my flowers!!  A nice touch!!

Please reference our linky at the bottom of this post for the entire hop list.

Happy Hopping!!

Flip-It Fun

Hello Stamping Friends!

I am on the Your Next Stamp Blog today sharing how to create the fun "Flip-It" Card with the Half Circle Flip Die Set!

In my opinion this is a must have die!  It really creates a fun card!

It may look a little intimidating at first! Which is why I have created a tutorial for you to make it easy!

Just to let you know, I am also working on a second part to this series!!  First I wanted to share how to create a Flip-It card!  My next tutorial I am going to share another fun card design to change it up a little!  Another use out of this awesome die!!

Here is a look at a few supplies I quickly grabbed to get me started:
I started by creating a A2 Card base (8 1/2" x  5 1/2"), scored at 4 1/4".

I decided I was going to use the larger of the two dies from the Half Circle Flip Die Set to create this Flip-it card!!  As my sentiment and image I want to work with will work best with this size!  I've also used the awesome Circles with Stitching and Piercing Marks Die Set!  As these circles work so well together with the Half Circle Flip Die Set!

So lying my card base down I found the center of the left half of my card base, which is 2 1/8".

You can then place the card base and die in your die cutting machine.  Place the die just over your marks you created, with the circle facing to your left.  Position the die evenly from top to bottom as well, unless you want the circle position more to the top or bottom.  I am trying to make it as centered as possible.   Feel free to use a little painter's tape or post it note to keep the die in place. I have magnetic platforms, so I normally don't use them unless I think I need to!
You are then ready to run in through your machine!  So exciting!!

It will look like this:

Now fold along the center score line, just like it was a normal card.

Lastly carefully fold the right  most section over to the left along the score lines the die created!  Should look like this:
YAY!!  You just created a Flip-It Card base!  How exciting and so much fun!

The Half Circle Flip Die Set really is great for making creating this card design so fun and easy!!

You are now able to embellish your card to your liking!!

Here is my finished card:
How fun!!  I used the adorable Just Plane Amazing stamp set for the sentiment and plane!!  As well as the coordinating Just Plane Amazing Die Set to die cut the plant, in which I then used pop-dots to adhere to the circle.

To get the striped piece of paper, I simple ran the die through my die cutting machine on the pattern paper, I then trimmed three of the edges slightly (but did not trim anything on the right side)!

Here's a glance at my in process work of creating the clouds on my die cut!
I used the Puffy Cloud Border Die Set to die cut one of the clouds to use as a mask.   I then used the Blueberry Breeze to ink add ink to the circle in circular motions.  I moved the mask a few times.  I really like how it turned out!!

Opened up:
On the inside I stamped two clouds also from the Just Plane Amazing stamp set and also added the large "Happy" in Holly Berry Red Ink and "birthday" in Black Olive Ink from the awesome Happy Everything stamp set!!

What a fun design!!

I finished off this card by adding some lovely Gumdrops!!  I just love those embellishments!!

I created this card when the die was first released:
This card used the smaller of the two dies from the Half Circle Flip Die Set!

I hope I have helped you see how fun and easy it is to use this die!!  You'll love it!!

YNS Challenge #51

Hello Stamping Friends!

Time for a new challenge at Your Next Stamp!!
Click here to find the current challenge!

I based my card on the sketch for the most part and grabbed a few of the inspirational colors!!

I decided to create a masculine birthday, shaker card!!
I used the Stripe-tastic Star Die Set to die cut the striped star for my shaker window!

I love the font used for the large Happy Die cut!  Which I placed slightly over the striped die cut star.  I then stamped the "birthday" in the bottom right corner from the Happy Everything stamp set in Stone Gray Ink!!
I love the combination of die cut and stamped sentiments!!  So fun!

I used the Scallop Star Edge Die for my die cut border!  I just love this border for Birthday cards!!!

And like most cases, I finished up my card by adding some lovely Gumdrops!!  I just LOVE these things!!!

As I thought it would then be fun to stamp the Mini Star Ink Splatter in black ink over some of the swooshes!  As well as stamping the large "Happy" and "birthday" from the awesome Happy Everything stamp set!!

I just LOVE this fun card design!!

YNS Upsy Daisy Day DT Dare

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's DT Dare day at Your Next Stamp!!

DT Dare is....
Upsy Daisy Day

Upsy Daisy Day according to Chase's Calendar of Events, "is a day to remind people to get up gloriously, gratefully, and gleefully each morning."

You often hear someone say to a child "Upsy daisy" when they are lifting them up off the ground or onto something. Think of Upsy Daisy Day as a day to forget your troubles, lift yourself up, and be cheerful about all that life has to offer.

With that in mind I instantly thought of the new Happy Everything stamp set as well as the new Happy Die!
I first started by using the Tiny Dots Edge stamp to create my super fun background!!  I really like how it turned out!

I then added some two sided tape to a piece of black cardstock and die cut the Happy Die and added it to my stamped background layer!  I really like this die, the font is so very fun!!

I then stamped the "everything" from the Happy Everything stamp set underneath!  Just a friendly reminder to always be happy with everything life brings to your life!!

I finished off my card by adding some fun sparkly gumdrops!!

YNS June Release

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's release day at Your Next Stamp!!!
I just love release day!
So MANY great new stamp sets and dies being released today!!!
I know I say this every release, but Karen always amazes me with all the great new stamp sets and dies!

--------------------

First up I am sharing a colorful card using the new Happy Everything stamp set!
As well as the fun new Flower Cube Die set!!  I took and die cut the larger flower cube three times and placed the frames back in the spot they were die cut from.  I then used the cute little flowers from the set to add a few colorful flower around the frames!

Such a fun die set!!

The Happy Everything stamp set is so awesome!  There are so many uses for this one set, so worth the money!!  I love the large "Happy" and then you have a bunch, 11 to be exact, separate sentiments that can be mixed and match to go with the large happy!
Shake! Shake!
For my first use with the Flower Cube Die set, I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card!!

Next up, I am showcasing the super fun new Fishy Fun stamp set and coordinating Fishy Fun Die Set...
I had so much fun coloring the images from this set!!!
They are so much fun!  And the sentiments to go along with the images are super cute as well!!

I also used some new Spring Green Matte Gumdrops!

Bee Happy with HBS

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's my day once again to post on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog!!

For my card today, I based it off of the Mood Board Challenge currently going on at HBS!!
13015345_10208121512828919_4186936398311942132_n

I started by creating my Tri Fold Shutter Card Base.  I then started choosing the papers I wanted to use.
I then stamped some of the pieces of paper.

I am so super happy with how this card turned out!!

Here's a look at the card closed:
I stamped the pretty floral image from the Sweet As Honey stamp set a few time on the two end panels.

Again I used the Sweet As Honey stamp set to stamp the honeycomb image, sentiment and bee on the center panel!

A view of the card opened up:
So fun!!

I stamped the honeycomb image and tiny bee on the right center panel around the edges so that a message could be written in the middle for the recipient!

I stamped the "Have a Sweet Day" sentiment from the Happy Everything stamp set to the right panel.

When I first started creating this card I knew I wanted to use the fun Hand Lettered Alpha to create the "Bee" Happy!!" sentiment on my center middle panel!!
I also added some more bees from the Sweet As Honey stamp set around my sentiment!!

I really like how this card turned out!  Been a while since I created a card with this fold type!

Happy Day with Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's my day once again to post on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog!!

I decided to challenge myself today to create a one layer card!

I started by taking a white card base and first stamping my "Have a Happy Day" sentiment in black ink, which is part of the Happy Everything stamp set!  I love this set!  (I will say sorry already, as I will sound like a broken record, because you will probably hear that a lot!!)

I then used the super fun new Country Wreath stamp set to add some foliage around my sentiment!!
Another amazing stamp set!!
I love all the different pieces in this set!!  I'm sure you will too!!

My card:

I stamped all the flowers and leaves first.

Then went back and stamped the tiny little spots.
Lastly I finished off the card, but adding the cute little hearts and some rhinestones!!

I think the cute little hearts and rhinestones really bring everything together!!

Happy Birthday with HBS

Hello Stamping Friends!

It's my day once again to post on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog!!

Today I am featuring the NEW Happy Everything stamp set!  Releasing next week!!  It's a must have!!

I started by grabbing a few supplies:

I used the ruler to create a light line evenly about 1 3/4" from the bottom of my main layer.
I did this to help me stamp straight!!

I used the small Happy to stamp it multiple times...
The line sure helps to keep yourself straight!  After I was finished stamping all the Happy's, I erased my line!!

Here is my finished card:
I then stamped the lovely Birthday sentiment.

I absolutely love the font used!!

Isn't it fun?!
I sure think so!

Close-up:
I love the bright colors of this card!!

"Bee" sure to check out all the lovely products Honey Bee Stamps has to offer!
Happy Stamping!!
